18 of the world's Top 20 riders will compete in Cannes from the 12 to 14 June

Data: 11/06/2014

Nine of the world’s Top Ten and 18 of the world’s Top 20 riders will be competing at Longines Global Champions Tour of Cannes, headed up by the reigning World No 1 and 2013 LGCT Champion Scott Brash (GBR). The world-class CSI5* competition that is sure to result from such a star studded line-up will be televised live throughout the show from the 12-14 June on GCT TV and the Grand Prix will be show by Eurosport, ClassHorseTV, beIN Sports, Equidia Life and Horse&Country TV.

Scott Brash produced a class performance in round three in Hamburg to take a Bronze medal podium finish - Brash told GCT TV that defending his Championship crown was definitely a target for this season, so watch out for another fierce performance in Cannes. 2011/2012 Champion Edwina Tops-Alexander (AUS) is currently leading the charge at the top of the LGCT Ranking with 114 points, but Ludger Beerbaum (GER) and Emanuele Gaudiano (ITA) are right behind her with 91 and 78 points, respectively.

World nº2 Ben Maher is hot on the leaders' tails in 4th and the rivalry between him and fellow Brit Brash is certainly apparent. Maher who is currently lying fourth on the Ranking to Brash’s 20th told the media at the Hamburg Grand Prix press conference that the Tour was one of his ‘targets this season’, so he will will no doubt be pulling out all the stops on the French Riviera this weekend.

One man who well could stir it all up at the top of the table is German maestro Marcus Ehning, last year’s winner of the Longines Global Champions Tour of Cannes Grand Prix and already a Silver medallist on the Tour this season. Marcus is in great form, lying 5th on the Ranking, but with two other German titans Ludger Beerbaum and Daniel Deusser currently sitting in the LGCT Top Ten following some great performances, he could well have to fight off his countrymen if he is to retain his Cannes title this year.

Brazil will be represented by Doda Miranda.
